Caring for Solid Wood Furniture
Solid wood responds to its surroundings. Gentle cleaning and a stable indoor environment help preserve its appearance. Follow any care instructions supplied with your specific product.
Everyday Cleaning
- Dust with a clean, soft, dry cloth.
- If needed, use a lightly damp cloth and dry the surface promptly.
- Wipe up spills promptly. Do not soak the wood or leave standing water on it.
- Avoid abrasive pads, harsh cleaners and solvents.
Protecting the Surface
- Use coasters, placemats and heat-resistant mats under cups, dishes and hot objects.
- Avoid prolonged direct sunlight and placement beside heaters or air-conditioning outlets.
- Keep furniture away from excessive moisture and sudden changes in temperature or humidity.
- Do not apply oil, wax or polish until you have confirmed that it is suitable for the product’s finish.
Moving and Using Furniture
- Lift furniture carefully rather than dragging it.
- Remove loose contents before moving cabinets and storage pieces.
- Follow the product’s assembly instructions. Do not stand on chairs, stools or tables.
